Lagos State FA is backing the Seamoriow Sport League Championship, with Chairman Alhaji Gafa stressing the importance of balancing football with education for players’ future success. Although Gafa was absent from the recent media conference, Vice Chairman Dotun Coker outlined that players will undergo thorough screening before participation and affirmed that players will have opportunities to represent the state.
Coker also conducted age checks to ensure compliance with tournament rules.
Coker emphasized the need for coaches to register for a coaches course and with their local Football Council, noting that failure to do so might result in exclusion from future tournaments.
The tournament will award the following prizes:
Best Goalkeeper (Golden Glove) and Highest Goal Scorer: 150,000 Naira each
MVP and Best Coach: 200,000 Naira each
Winner: 800,000 Naira
Runner-Up: 500,000 Naira
Third Place: 250,000 Naira
Defending champions Fortune Football Academy have been disqualified due to issues with player conduct and scholarship denials.
Additionally, My Uchena of the Alimosho Football Council will sponsor two coaches for a course at the National Institute of Sports (NIS).
Amos Oluwaseyi, Chairman of Seamoriow Sports, highlighted that the tournament aims to enrich the community rather than generate revenue and encouraged further sponsorships.
